Milkshake
It is easy to prepare delicious gelato-based milkshakes and all the recipes are very similar. Simply pour the ingredients into the milkshake mixer glass, blend for a few minutes and serve immediately in tall glasses, adding a straw or a long tea-spoon. The product becomes even more inviting if it is personalised with small decorations: like cut or bunched fruit, or even a blob of cream.
Blended gelato, “affogato”
This kind of gelato is served in tall glasses that contain both gelato and other ingredients. It should be served with a long tea-spoon so customers can stir the ingredients if they wish. “Affogato” means gelato is placed at the bottom of a glass and “drowned” with a liquid as desired. These specialities are also called “iced”, because the gelato cools down the liquid that is usually hot.
Long drinks with gelato
These are pleasant combinations, usually obtained by mixing gelato with sweet wine or spumante. The highly appealing colour and aromas released from the glass invite customers to taste it. They are recipes particularly suited to receptions or other special occasions, as well as being ideal for the summer.
